British Cosplay's of Matt G.
Matt and his wife Lynette discovered a shared love of costuming at Star Wars Celebration 2 in 2002, when the extent of Matt's costume was a lightsaber hanging from his belt. Since then they have collaborated on costumes and cosplayed together at conventions near and far. Matt's skill set includes foamsmithing, chainmaille, leatherwork, sculpting, carving, and sewing; basically whatever it takes to make the components of the next costume.
Whovian cosplay guest: Joshua
Joshua is back for 2017! Joshua is a cosplayer from the Omaha area. Specializing in the many looks of the Tenth Doctor, he is continually finding ways to expand his skill-set into sewing, craftsmanship and the occasional British accent. He looks forward to someday doing a fantastic Capaldi once his hair grays. When not traveling through time and space, he spends most of his days doing software development and crafting in his garage. Joshua will be posing for pictures with the TARDIS console as well as doing a WHO panel or two!
Cosplay Guest: Ezmeralda Von Katz
Ezmeralda is a nationally recognized cosplayer who practically eats, sleeps, and breathes costumes. She began her obsession with costuming at an early age and has been creating costumes and cosplays ever since. She enjoys making armor pieces, Elizabethan gowns, animal parts, masks and everything in between. At the convention scene, Von Katz speaks on panels about cosplay, judges cosplay competitions, and walks the con floors to have fun in costume and meet fellow cosplayers. Her work has been featured on multiple cosplay sites such as Cos Couture, EZ Cosplay and Geek Girls, and her cosplays have received numerous awards around the US and multiple Best in Shows at other conventions.
Kyle Gibson and Brian Robinette have sought tirelessly to correct a fundamental flaw in the multiverse…. a lack of Doctor Who miniature/RPG games that are fun for ALL players not just the players playing The Doctor, Companions, and Daleks.
Drawing on over a combined 70 years of gaming design & demoing experience and using a modified Savage World dice engine, Brian & Kyle have developed a game that is fun regardless of your experience level with RPG or miniatures games as well as your individual knowledge of Doctor Who both Classic and Modern.
Game #1: Title: Doctor Who and the Dalek Invasion of Cardiff! Description: In an attempt to more quickly adapt to threats like the meddling Time Lords, the Daleks have introduced Human DNA into their genome. This decision has sparked a Dalek Civil War on top of the existing Time War and both have come to the City of Cardiff to be resolved. Will Davros be able to unite his children to help win the Time War, or will The Doctor or other races affected by Time War/Rift interaction be able to prevail?
Players: up to 10, no experience required, rule taught, all miniatures provided, parent/child teams encouraged, knowledge of miniature gaming or Doctor Who not required, but a plus.
Run Time: 3-4 hrs. Prizes.
Game #2: Title: Doctor Who and the return of the Cult of Sutekh! Description: After failing to destroy the Earth for profit, the Slitheen are running short of funds. Fortunately for them and unfortunately for Cardiff, they are in possession of an ancient artifact of immense power and the Cult of Sutekh is willing to pay handsomely. The Slitheen must make the deal and know that their contact is a man wearing a fez, there can’t be many of those wondering the streets of Cardiff? Will the Slitheen find the right man or will they get caught up in a routine Sontaran Routon sweep? Players: up to 10, no experience required, rule taught, all miniatures provided, parent/child teams encouraged, knowledge of miniature gaming or Doctor Who not required, but a plus.
Run Time: 3-4 hrs. Prizes.
